It's nice to see the leaves showing themselves and so nice to be knitting with a bit bigger yarn for a little change. It's tough to collect them so late in the game and I think with the interest in lace that is developing that there is a market for them if re-published. We can only hope!Lacefreakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291336363387079445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30259281.post-30978842497503082492007-08-21T21:31:00.000-07:002007-08-21T21:31:00.000-07:00Dear Dawn,This thing is really fun and it does not...Dear Dawn,

This thing is really fun and it does not have any stitches you won't recognize. It tells you when to move your markers over and I like to check my stitches on the plain knit rows that are done between each pattern row so I can correct mistakes before they get out of hand. I think you will really enjoy this pattern and I can't wait to see how you do on it!Lacefreakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291336363387079445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30259281.post-80985236748466640052007-08-21T21:29:00.000-07:002007-08-21T21:29:00.000-07:00Dear Terry,No. I have not designed any lace. Knitt...Dear Terry,

No. I have not designed any lace. Knitting it is one thing, actually understanding the stitches well enough to design it, I'm not there yet. I have to knit a whole lot more lace before I go thre LOL. But I really am enjoying the Nieblings. Actually, knitting lace beyond my comfort zone is what I did when I insanely decided my first lace project that would be knit on both the front and the back would be Sharon Millers Wedding Ring Shawl. I've learned on that lace so it is not at all perfect.I got some of the "spiders" wrong so they don't have the hole in the middle like the should but I don't get crazy around it. I learn best from my mistakes and I'm too old and too mean to scare easy :-) Though it looks challenging, this pattern does not have any difficult stitches. Taken a line at a time with plenty of markers, I think you would be able to do it too!Lacefreakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291336363387079445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30259281.post-79801356461871955462007-08-21T21:17:00.000-07:002007-08-21T21:17:00.000-07:00Dear Laritiza,I'm using a cashmere/silk from Colou...Dear Laritiza,

I'm using a cashmere/silk from ColourMartUK at 2/28 NM in a color they call "Pokadot". My version of the pattern tells me to change to a larger needle for the last set of leaves at row 113. I'm using 2.5 mm needles. Should I go to 2.75 mm or 3mm? I know it will never block flat, but this one is a small shawl that I think will be around 45-48 inches? So it's not a big deal yet. I intend to knit this again later with tatting/crochet cotton but for now a shawl is a good practice piece. I saw your beautiful Lyra on the "Lyra Learning Group" and I am impressed that you gave it away. Of course, I tend to do that too LOL. Oh well, I think it would be great for you to make another. White is always a great choice and I know it will be as lovely as the first one you made!Lacefreakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291336363387079445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30259281.post-11212048813788643202007-08-21T10:13:00.000-07:002007-08-21T10:13:00.000-07:00I love it! :) Have a fabulous time in Tahoe!I love it! :) Have a fabulous time in Tahoe!missalicefayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03087111607375907675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30259281.post-123483229718091822007-08-21T07:12:00.000-07:002007-08-21T07:12:00.000-07:00That is such beautiful work! I have way too much yarn and I have to use some of it before Stitches next year and the Knit & Crochet show coming up. Glad you like the lace so far!Lacefreakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291336363387079445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30259281.post-61216053928235443892007-08-20T00:13:00.000-07:002007-08-20T00:13:00.000-07:00Dear fleegle,I'm actually doing the double yarnove...Dear fleegle,

I'm actually doing the double yarnovers for this one. I thought I'd knit it the way it was written and then when I do it again I can make alterations if I find areas I'm not that happy with. I'm letting the mesh be large because I expect my yarn to fluff just a little bit so the holes may not appear as large as they do now. At least I don't think they will but then who knows? I'm glad you are having fun too with yours. As for this color, I'm finally using some of the colourMart yarn I have stashed. It's about time and it is pretty :-)Lacefreakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291336363387079445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30259281.post-3995503370451580682007-08-20T00:08:00.000-07:002007-08-20T00:08:00.000-07:00it's looking stunning, the colour seems to show th...it's looking stunning, the colour seems to show the detail up really well....

Have a nice time in Tahoe...LittleBerryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13161807446948103323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30259281.post-27829623645484648662007-08-19T22:59:00.000-07:002007-08-19T22:59:00.000-07:00Oh, Jane--It's WONDERFUL!Tech question: are you re...Oh, Jane--It's WONDERFUL!

Tech question: are you really doing the double yarnovers, or are you doing a single with a KP in it on the return row?

I am loving it too, but I am only on row 25 or so.
