Lest you think I never work on my UFO's (some of them so old that I am ashamed to even contemplate it) here are a few pictures of Goldregen. It took a vacation to a resort in Mexico and here are a few pictures to show where we were. Slippery slithery silk. It takes me much longer to knit this because of the utter terror of possibly dropping a stitch. Dropped stitches are bad. Very very bad. No dropping of stitches allowed so it takes FOREVER to go around this sucker one time.

OMG, the thought of doing that makes me tremble. Gorgeous, beautiful and I'm fighting my jealousy.
ReplyDeleteThat's the most beautiful t-shirt I've ever seen!!
ReplyDeleteit might be an old wip but still lovely to see it and it's still stunning.
ReplyDeleteHow comforting to know you have UFO's too I thought you just ploughed through everything you knitted. Stunning. Very brave to take it on holiday too - so many variables that could lead to dropped stitches - like napping!
ReplyDeleteDear purls...and other lil gems,
ReplyDeleteThe beauty of those Niebling patterns is what keeps me knitting them. I know others have knit this one too but there is something lovely about taking an old pattern and putting your own spin on it :-)
Dear fleegle,
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think I did nothing but knit on this vacation but I'm glad I did. I had the "yips" about this piece ever since I had that "needle failure" where the needle came away from the cable. No more HiyaHiya needles for me when working on silk LOL!
Dear LittleBerry,
ReplyDeleteI have to say I'm loving this one now that I've gotten back to it. I've increased needle size for the 3rd time so I hope it will lay flat once blocked. The silk has no "give" you see.
Dear Yoga Knitdra,
ReplyDeleteI do have quite a few UFO's that just don't get the attention they deserve but I'm making an effort to finish some of them before the end of the year :-)
Tshirt? I didn't see a tshirt. I just saw pretty lace. Where's the tshirt?!?!?
ReplyDeleteDear Carol,
ReplyDeleteJust kidding about the Tshirt. I didn't bring anything back from Mexico except the lace :-)
I'm so glad you are working on this one again.
ReplyDeleteIt and you are what inspired me to start knitting Niebling patterns. I was heart broken when you put it down.
I think this particular one and the yarn you are using for it are absolutely stunning.
Dear Ladybug,
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to know that you also enjoy knitting those Nieblings. I have only 4 more rows. I should finish this by the weekend and it will be my next post! Sorry it took so long to get back to it. I also love the pattern. I just hope this silk blocks well after all that!
