It's Still Lace (knitting,not)

I was checking out Laritza's blog to find that she has, among her many other talents, the ability to weave and crochet in addition to spinning and knitting lace. Of course, I had to ask if there was anything she could not actually do. I have a feeling when she told me there was a kind of lace with a "funny name" that she could not yet do, that she may have been referring to tatting. If so, here are some of my tatted edges. I don't do large projects in tatting, just edges. I'm too spastic to do large projects with tatting. It's not knitting, but I believe it still qualifies as a type of lace :-)

I used to tat! But the only thing I ended up making and using were bookmaarks. Your edgings are gorgeous. What do you end up doing with them?

I also have taken a brief sojourn into the realm of bobbin lace. Alas, all that craft ADD has dissipated so my shuttles and lace pillow are sitting and collecting dust.

Dear Opal,

I just like to make the edging. I have a collection of these that I am now using in a crazy-quilt project but that project is on hold because of my lace knitting. I have used my tatting as edging for sachet I've made. I have never tried bobbin lace because I just know it would never work out

That is beautiful! But I do tat :D
The lace I could not remember is needle lace and the other one I do not do is bobbin lace. I know that if I get into bobbin lace I will collect bobbins and wheels, knitting needles, spindles, looms and tatting shuttles have taken over the space around here !
Your tatting is lovely. I am like you I tat bookmarks and edges and small things like that, not me for a large project with tatting. No no.

There are 7 types of lace
knitting, crochet, weaving, bobbin lace, tatting, hairpin lace and needle lace. Out of those I do not do needle and bobbin lace. But there you have it for the challenge :)

I used to tat also. I made a pillowcase edging and slept on it once. I didn't look so good with little rings on my cheek. As always, your stuff is mouthwateringly gorgeous!

Your edgings are absolutely beautiful, Jane.
I knit, crochet and sew and that's enough for me. I can't afford any more crafts.

Dear Laritza,

There is no way I'm going to make all 7 types of lace! LOL. I confess I considered bobbin lace too but it looks too confusing to me!

Dear fleele,

I've put my tatting on handtowels, on pillow-cases and you are abosolutely right. You wake up with imprint of the lace on your face. I prefer it on the crazy quilt.

Dear knitsanity,

I also sew a little but I'm not good at it. Just to patch things up when they need it. It's not enough fun for me to do sewing on a regular basis.

I first found you on Flickr thanks to your lovely tatting! :) It's been months and months since I last picked up a shuttle. And I still haven't progressed beyond lesson 3 of my bobbin lace book. But I still swoon over all the pretty laces out there....
