"Frosted Fern" Row 80 (AKA "Oakie Dokie" on the knit-along)

Just a few pictures of Frosted Fern. I'm on row 80 using Cebelia 30 and US 0 needles. I want to get this done so I can concentrate on the Sampler Stole edging. I did not like the way that the edging is supposed to go on so I ripped out the two inches of it and I will just put it on the way that Sharon Miller suggests. Lots less bother and I'm not wedded to following instructions :-) I will be taking up the "Wedding Ring Shawl"again as well and possibly start swatching again for the "Princess Shawl" that is being re-issued in November. Since I tend to slow down in the Winter with the holidays I will concentrate on finishing rather than beginning lots of stuff. At least that's the plan. Good evening!

The Princess Shawl is such an amazing pattern -- I can't wait to see that in progress.

You've got so much on the go -- I don't know how you keep track of it all!

looking good... I'm not even thinking about doing anything with the Princess shawl until at least next year when I have more experience of knitted lace...

Beautiful color for Oak! I can't wait for Princess either. Just two more weeks. My yarn has not come thanks to UK postal strike :( It will get here when it gets here I guess...

It's fantabulous, Jane! The color is wonderful. On my monitor it's a purply-blue and shows off the exquisite stitching to perfection. But then everything you knit is perfection, so I am clearly being redundant!

That really is the perfect color for that pattern.

I'm not sure that I needed to know the Princess Shawl is being re-issued. I'm not sure I need to know that at all. ;-)

Dear Soo,

I don't think i will start the Princess Shawl this year. I plan to start it next year as I have not yet finished my WRS. I really want to finish that first so I'm sure others will start their Princess Shawls before me. This time, I plan on a yarn that will be more sturdy. As for keeping track, I don't actually think I have that many projects going at the same time. Some don't have any movement at all to speak of for long periods of time. I do keep a notebook with each project telling me what row I have to knit next though :-) I enjoy looking at your projects as you are really speedy compaired to me LOL!

Dear littleberry,

I won't start it until next year. It's not the experience, it's trying to finish off things from this year. I'd like to try to start with a clean slate if possible. Could you imagine it if I could start 6 or 7 new projects all at the same time? Heaven! I look forward to everyone who will be knitting the Princess Shawl. I know I have watched in awe as some people have made progress on their shawls this year. It's a wonderful pattern. I say "Good Luck" to us all!

Dear Laritza,

I'm glad you like it because I just can't get off this "knitting with color" kick I'm on. It's not like I don't like white for doily's. I do. it's so elegant and classic. I just have lots of color tatting cotton here. I'm looking forward to the Princess pattern myself but I know I won't knit it during the holidays so I will start it next year. I will, however drool over the pattern and swatch to find a good candidate!

Dear fleegle,

You are so good for my over-large ego! LOL! I'm glad it looks good to you, I have mistakes, as usual, in this doily but I'm really good at hiding/fixing them :-) I like the color too. It looks good with strong colored threads. Lots of people on the Yahoo group are knitting it in colors as well. Must be a trend :-)

Dear Opal,

Any color but white would be a good color for this doily I'm begining to think :-) Sorry to tempt you with the Princess Shawl. All these large project shawls by Sharon Miller feel like the knitting version of Mt. Everest. "Why knit it? Because it's there!" Or to para-phrase a line from "Steel Magnolias" "Her knitting is an experiment in terror!" Come over to the dark side Opal!

Dear Carol,

I have no idea, but whenever I get close to finishing something I start working on something else. It's like I want to prolong the torture. I blocked the shawl today as I had a day off. I did it indoors as it is raining where I live. Will post this evening once I'm done answering all these lovely comments! Stay tuned
