Salmon Queen (Another UFO Bites The Dust)

Just a quick post to show you pictures of Salmon Queen. This hung around for a long time waiting for me to have time to finish it. I'm really trying to finish off my UFOs so I won't have so much guilt over new projects. The blocking shots look darker because the doily is still wet from washing. As usual, I finished off with steam to set the doily as blocking while wet without use of starch just won't hold the shape. To re-cap. Flora 50 with US 000 needles, Herbert Niebling pattern. The last few shots are of new acquisitions. The roving is a Merino/Alpaca from "Black Bunny Fibers" as part of the "Team B" fiber club, the wooden wrist distaff (by Tom Forrester)and rosewood needle case/inch gage are from "The Wheel Thing"

Dear lankakomero,

Thank you! I love knitting these doilys in color. I find it holds my interest a bit more when I do.

Dear amanda,

Thank you. I thought it was pretty this time too :-) That's not always the case. You don't get to see the ones I frog!

Dear badcatdesigns,

A gasp from you is a great compliment :-) Hope my future projects turn out as well.

Dear laritza,

Thank you! I got this pattern from doilyhead at

http://www.flickr.com/photos/doilyhead/

It's the first time I ever saw a pattern for it as well though I had seen a picture of it once.

Dear vtknitboy,

I really liked this pattern too and it gave me a little more experience with knitting on small needles and yardage estimates for patterns with more solid areas of knitting. I have a larger project in mind and it helps to know how much thread you will need in these smaller gages.

It's utterly stunning! For some reason, I thought it was going to be salmon color, but I love the magenta/dark red.

And congrats for blasting another UFO out of orbit!

You picked a really gorgeous!, rich color for this one - love it! And golly, such pretty acquisitions - it would be fun if you were to be an online store and one could shop as we peruse your blog :) - you always have wonderful things to show. Terry

Dear Soo,

Thank you! I frequently think the same thing about your knitting:-)

Dear fleegle,

Still trying to keep the eye candy coming! It would have been really funny to make it in a Salmon color but I don't have any in that size thread at the moment. I'm really trying to get a few of the UFO's out of the way so I can start a whole new batch of things. Of course, that means I have to get back to the WRS and Princess at some point as well. We shall see. Hope you are having fun, resting and feeling good!

Dear Terry,

I'm glad you like this one :-) I'm all for retail therapy but If I let myself go hog wild I'd be really out of control. "A Verb For Keeping Warm" started a new fiber club and I had to resist or else be burried under a mountain of fiber :-( I get my kicks from seeing what everyone is collecting and making as well!

Dear Littleberry,

Thanks! I really like the color too. I'm making something with a really pink silk at the moment and I'm not as thrilled since I'm not really into pastel colors. Still, I try to branch out with the colors since I don't want everything to end up looking the same!

Dear Judith,
Thank you! I'm really happy about finishing off my UFO's. It gives me space to start a bunch of new things :-)

Dear Opal,

Big praise for a small project but thank you! :-)

Someone on one of my groups pointed me in your direction (she found you quite by accident while searching for something else) and I must say that what I've seen is absolutely gorgeous. Lace knitting is one of my favorite techniques. IF you want to peek at mine you'll find them here:
