Federdolde Blocking (Yeah it's White. Shocking I know!)

Federdolde, US 00 needles, Filato Di Cantu # 30 thread. Just to show that I can knit on a little smaller needle when I want to! I love knitting with this thread so much that I don't even care that I'm knitting in White! It's very smooth with a nice little shine to it. Blocking went really well and the new camera appears to be working out even though I have to take low resolution pictures of this in order to post on the blog. I will be away for a little while so no dry shots until I get back but I had to post this before I got busy again :-)

Gorgeous job on this one--as with all the other lovely lace projects you show us. The white is so classic.

Dear LittleBerry,

Thank you! It really did come out beautifully and the thread really holds up to blocking :-)

Dear GinkoKnits,

You won't get any arguments from me on taking up lace knitting LOL :-)

Dear Chery,

Thanks :-)

Dear fleegle,

Thank you! I can really see why so much of this lace was made in white now. It's so crisp and yet delicate with this thread. A real pleasure to knit with.

Dear Cynthb,

Thanks! I could have gone with a smaller needle but I didn't want any shrinking back after blocking with this one. The textured stitches really pop with the cotton thread.

Dear Viki W,

I'm glad you are enjoying my projects. It makes spinning less and knitting more easier :-)

Dear pencraftco,

Thank you! Though I have generally knit with color, somethings really do look spectacular in white. This piece is going to someone who is getting married in the Fall so the white is not a bad choice :-)

Dear Taxastrikkeren,

Thank you! I love knitting the Niebling patterns as they are always wonderful when then are done.

Hi Jane,
As I said before your lace knitting really inspires me. Quite a bit of serendipity: I've had a hankering for making a white lace shawl and just finished it this week! It's not as big as yours but also a Niebling (thanks for your tip, I'll look out for those errata!) and I can't quite believe how pretty it is after blocking. Thank you so much for being a wonderful inspiration!

Dear Giselle,

Congratulations on finishing your shawl! I am always amazed and how beautiful the lace is once it's blocked and Nieblings have a style all their own that you don't see in other lace. Bravo!

Dear Monica,

A re-printed version of this pattern can be found in "Knitted Lace Designs of The Modern Mode, Book 2" (Naoko Ichida). This can still be purchased from Lacis. They have an on-line catalog. This book, however, is in Japanese. They have a stitch key in English. It varies slightly from the one that I knit in the corners. Good Luck!
